GEORGE KASHICKEY 

AGE:86  • CARTERET

 

George Kashickey, 86, of Carteret, New Jersey, died Monday June 23, 2014 at the home of his daughter Karen Kashickey and son-in-law Dennis DiMasso in Cincinnati, OH. A resident of Carteret for 62 years, George had just recently moved to Cincinnati Ohio. He retired in 1993 as a General Supervisor from General Motors Corporation in Linden, New Jersey after 40 years of service. George was a very active member of St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Carteret, a veteran of the Korean War and also a Knight of Columbus.

 

He is survived by his brothers John Kashickey of Park Ridge NJ, and Joseph Kashickey of Carol Stream, IL, his daughter Karen Kashickey of Cincinnati, OH, his son Kevin Kashickey of Corinth, TX, and grandchildren Daniella DiMasso-Shininger of Liberty Twp., OH, Stephanie DiMasso of Charlotte, NC, Matthew DiMasso, Alexandra DiMasso and Andrianna DiMasso of Cincinnati, OH.

 

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 28th at 10:30AM from the Chubenko Funeral Home, 625 Port Reading Avenue, Port Reading followed by an 11AM Funeral Liturgy at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Carteret. Entombment will follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 27th from 2PM to 4PM and 7PM to 9PM at the funeral home, with Parastas at 3PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church Building Fund, 719 Roosevelt Ave., Carteret, NJ 07008.

 

 

 

KATHERINE KILYK

AGE: 90 • CARTERET

 

Katherine Kilyk, 90, of Carteret died on Thursday, April 10, 2014. She was born in Monstyrec, Poland and lived in Carteret since 1949. She was a parishioner and founding member of St. Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church in Carteret, was a pyrohy worker, a member of the Ukrainian Catholic Daughters, and Союз Українок.

 

Katherine is predeceased by her husband, Sawerko and is survived by her children, Christine, Lubmila, Bohdan and her Family in the Ukraine.

 

The Funeral will be on Monday, April 14, 2014 at 9:00 AM at Synowiecki Funeral Home, 56 Carteret Avenue in Carteret, Mass at 9:30 AM at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Carteret and interment will follow at St. Gertrude's Cemetery in Colonia.

 

Visiting hours will be Sunday, from 5 PM to 7 PM. Parastas Service Sunday at 6:30 PM.
