SOPHIE KILYK
AGE: 90 CARTERET


Sophie Kilyk, 90, of Carteret, died on Friday, February 04, 2011 at the JF Kennedy Medical Center, Haven Hospice in Edison. She was born in Perth Amboy and lived most of her life in Carteret. She was a member of St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Carteret and a member of the St. Mary's Ladies Auxiliary and a pyrohy worker. Sophie was a member of the Carteret Community Seniors- Afternoon Group and a former officer of the Carteret High School PTA.

She is predeceased by her husband, Joseph Kilyk; her parents, John and Rosalie Melnykevich; her two sisters, Millie DeVita and Olga Rayner; and her three brothers, Joseph, Walter and Stanley Miller.

 

Sophie is survived by her son, Ronald J. Kilyk and his wife. Linda; her daughter; Eileen Turko and her husband; Michael; her four grandchildren. Jason Kilyk and his wife, Jo Ann, Bryan Sohayda and his fiancee Sherretta Williams, Danny Sohayda and his wife, Melissa, Todd Sohayda and his wile, Carrie; her four great-grandchildren, Joey and Justin Kilyk, Billy and Tyler Sohayda; her two sister-in-laws, Steffie Kilyk and Helen Miller; and many nieces and nephews.

The Funeral will be on Monday, February 7, 2011 at 9 AM at Synowiecki Funeral Home, 56 Carteret Avenue in Carteret- Mass will be at 9:30 AM at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Carteret. Entombment to follow at St- Gertrude Cemetery Mausoleum in Colonia. The viewing hours will be on Sunday from 2 PM to 4 PM and 7 PM to 9 PM.



 

 


ALEXANDRA BRAMOWICZ
AGE: 90 CARTERET


Alexandra "Alice" Bramowicz, 90, of Carteret passed away Thursday, April 7, 2011 at her home. Born in Jersey City, Alice lived in Carteret for fifty two years. Retiring in 2001, she was employed by the Middlesex County Clerks Office as a Clerk for fifteen years, and was also employed by the Carteret Roads and Streets Department as a clerk for ten years. She was a member of St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Carteret.

She is predeceased by her husband Benjamin in 1982, a son Francis Bramowicz in 2011, a daughter Donna Evans in 1986, and seven brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter Paulette Tomasino and her husband Vincent of California, her son Andrew Bramowicz and his wife Karen of Carteret, seven grandchildren Kenneth, Donna, Danielle, Georgette, Nicholas, Sarah, Hannah, and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Wednesday 9:00am from the Chubenko Funeral Home 625 Port Reading Ave., Port Reading followed by a 9:30 funeral service from St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Carteret with interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. JOHN LAZOR
AGE: 82 CARTERET



John T. Lazor, 82, of Carteret, passed away Monday, Oct 17th at his home. Born in the Ukraine, John lived in Carteret for sixty years. Retiring in 1992 he was employed by Merck and Company in Rahway for thirty years as a chemical operator. He was a member of St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Carteret and served his country in the United States Army.

 

He is survived by his wife of forty seven years Stefania Lazor, loving children Bohdan Lazor of Howell, Irene Samulewski and her husband Richard of Colonia, Marie Engel and her husband Bruce of Hamilton, a brother Roman Lazor, three sisters Sophie Matlaga, Marie Domaradz, Louise Zebro, seven grandchildren Christopher, Natalie, Andrea, Kristina, Brianna, Vanessa, and Roman.

 

Funeral services will be held Friday 9:00am from the Chubenko Funeral Home, 625 Port Reading Ave., Port Reading followed by a 9:30am funeral services from St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Carteret with interment to follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. Visitation will be held Thursday 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm at the funeral home. Parastas services will be held at 7:30.

MARIE K. CHIMIAK
AGE: 59 CARTERET


Marie K. Chimiak, 59, of Carteret, died on Monday, Nov. 21, 2011 at Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy. She was born in Carteret and was a life-long resident. Marie was formerly employed at G.G.P. at Woodbridge Center Mall Management as an Administrative Secretary. She was a parishioner of St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Carteret.

 

Marie is predeceased by her parents, Michael and Nadia Chimiak. She is survived by her husband, Arun Khanna; her two sisters, Stefania Hluszczyk and her husband, Roman and Lisa Chimiak; her brother, Harry Chimiak; and her two nieces and two nephews.

 

The viewing will be on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 from 5 PM to 9 PM. Parastas will be on Wednesday at 7:30 PM. The Funeral will be on Friday, November 25, 2011 at 9 AM at Synowiecki Funeral Home, 56 Carteret Avenue in Carteret. Liturgy will be at 9:30 AM at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Carteret. Interment will follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia.

 

 


FRANCIS B. BRAMOWICZ
AGE: 61 CARTERET


Francis B. Bramowicz, 61, of Carteret passed away Monday Jan 10th at JFK Medical Center, Edison. Born in Jersey City, he was a lifelong resident of Carteret. Francis was a truck driver for many years in Perth Amboy. He was a member of St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church Carteret, and also a member of the Ukrainian American Citizens Club.


He is predeceased by his father Benjamin Bramowicz and his sister Donna Evans. He is survived by his loving mother Alice Bramowicz of Carteret, a sister Paulette Tomasino and her husband Vincent of California, a brother Andrew Bramowicz and his wife Karen of Carteret, many nieces and nephews.


Funeral service will begin Friday at 9:30 am from the Chubenko Funeral Home 625 Port Reading Ave., Port Reading followed by a 10:00 am funeral service from St Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Carteret, with interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Visitation will be from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm Thursday at the funeral home. Parastas services will be at 7:30pm.
