We greet you with the onset of the Jubilee Holy Year focused on hope, Christ our Hope! We will have a special jubilee opportunity to welcome the head of our Church in our Archeparchy. From February 15-21, his Beatitude Sviatoslav will visit us, and we warmly invite you to attend the series of events that are being planned as part of the Jubilee Year of Hope in Philadelphia and Washington during his stay.
Please join the occasion for prayer, confession and fellowship and encourage your parishioners to participate. We all feel the need for solidarity at the tumultuous time in America, Ukraine and throughout the world.
We would like to highlight two important liturgical services:
- February 16th at 11:00AM: his Beatitude Sviatoslav will celebrate the Pontifical Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Philadelphia. We kindly encourage your parishioners to attend arriving for 10:30 AM. After the Liturgy. His Beatitude will give his blessing to the faithful, followed by communal refreshments in the cathedral hall.
- February 16th at 4:00 PM: Archbishop Nelson Perez, Patriarch Sviatoslav Shevchuk and the Ukrainian Catholic Bishops of the U.S. will lead a prayer service for Hope & Resilience, Peace & Justice in Ukraine at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul in Philadelphia. This service will commemorate the solemn third anniversary of the full-scale invasion.
